What TimeZones Diaries is about

I am writing this sitting at the Courtyard hotel by Marriott in Baku. It feels incredibly wonderful to sense this warmth of excitement to just write about what this blog is about.

A while ago while scrolling through the internet, I searched for countries I could visit with my country’s passport without needing a visa. And out of all the countries, there were a few I could stay for a year without a visa and Georgia was one of them. I wanted to make my travel as easy as it could be. One thing came to mind, where on planet earth is Georgia located?

And immediately, I went to scroll on Pinterest and found these amazing pictures of Georgia’s capital Tbilisi from one travel blogger, and boy they looked amazing and right on the spot, I began to search for flight tickets and my mind was made up, I was heading to Georgia and I was going to live there for a year.

So, in an attempt to feed my curiosity, I began searching for videos about Georgia and came across one YouTube video which had all the insider guides about Georgia and I was so excited to watch it.

But then I continued to watch more videos and out of nowhere, I was now watching a video about a city called Baku. All I managed to say was just wow. When I began to do more research on Baku, I realized it was a mere 1 hour away flight from Georgia, and viola, that meant I could connect my flight from Baku to Georgia or start in Georgia and then head to Baku.

But since Georgia was a long-term decision, I went against it and started in Baku. This is where the TimeZones diaries blog was conceived.

While working for a London-based organization, I was now based in Baku which was 4 hours ahead of London and also trying to calm jet lag from my home town.

I was a victim or rather a witness of multiple time zones and then it hit me, why not name this new blog TimeZones diaries and document all these trips you’re about to embark on and share them with the world? That’s why we are here. And It’s all thanks to my Instagram community who voted for this blog to be brought to life.

Now TimeZones diaries is a travel blog that explores the less frequented, less famous countries and cities. We all know the struggles of traveling to crowded cities, fighting for a spot to just take one simple picture. But this won’t be your fate here, you will get all the insider information about just as incredible cities as the famous ones, except your pictures won’t be filled with crowds
